Our Strategies Area and priorities

RIDC operates across several strategic areas that collectively strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem of Far Western University. These include research governance and policy development, faculty and student research capacity building, grant acquisition and project management, innovation and entrepreneurship support, ethical review and quality assurance, knowledge management and dissemination, and national and international collaboration. The Center also emphasizes digital research systems, industry linkages, and community-engaged research to ensure relevance, accountability, and impact. The priority areas of RIDC focus on research and innovation that directly contribute to regional and national development agendas. These include sustainable development and climate resilience, public health and biomedical research, agriculture and food security, education and social inclusion, gender equality and governance, renewable energy and appropriate technologies, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship and local economic development. Through these priorities, RIDC seeks to generate impactful research, foster innovation-led solutions, and position Far Western University as a key knowledge partner for government, industry, and society.
